World War II - Timeline of events

  • Before 1933

    Before 1933
    From the effects of World War I, Europe struggled to recover from death or injury of soldiers and civilian. There were over 9 million jews that lived in Europe and they worked and lived in the harsh reality of worldwide economic depression.
  • Between 1933-1938

    Between 1933-1938
    On January 30, 1933, The Nazi state had turned into an athoritarian government which was led by Hitler. Citizens had no basic rights. With this process, Germany was no longer a democracy. During 1993, concentration camps were being made and all those who were described as 'dangerous', were sent in these camps. These people included those who were imprisoning it's politcal opponents, homosexuals, Jehovah's witnesses, etc. Propaganda posters at the time consisted on the aim of the Nazi'
  • Between 1939-1941

    Between 1939-1941
    On September 1, 1939, Germany had invaded poland. Around this time, Nazi's and their alliances had taken over most of Europe and started evicting Jews out of there house and placed them in camps. In June, 1941, Germany started turning on their ally, Soviet Union. Attacks occured and Hitler had gained another enemy.

    Between 1942-1945
    As the war still went on, the Nazi's intensified the pursuit of the "Final Solution". This consisted of deporting millions of Jews and killing the majority of them in what was called, Gas Chambers. Towards 1945, Allied troops uncovered the full extent of crimes during the Holacaust.

    After 1945
    When war ended, it's end result turned out with six million European Jews dead during this holocaust. Non-Nazi soldiers searched through concentration camps and found dead bodies and survivng Jews. When everything was all over, Jews found it hard to rebuild but they did aim to fix the country.
