    The Japanese invasion of China
    Japan invaded China in July of 1937 due to Japan seeking more land to fill its people and due to Japan seeking the greater natural resources of China. War was declared from Japan onto China when gunshots were fired around the Marco Polo bridge between each side.
  • The Munich agreement

    The Munich agreement
    Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy sign the Munich agreement, granting for the Nazi regime to annex​ Sudetenland in Western Czechoslovakia. The Munich agreement was signed by Great Britain, France, and Italy to appease Germany by giving them a large Western part of Czechoslovakia​.
  • Slovak independence and German violation

    Slovak independence and German violation
    (On the 14th) Due to the pressure of Germany, the Slovakians form an independence and create the Slovak Republic. (On the 15th) Germany violates the Munich agreement by occupying rump Czech lands. Germany violated the Munich agreement by occupying more land than given by the agreement.
  • Italy (under Mussolini) invades Albania

    Italy (under Mussolini) invades Albania
    The Italian Fascist regime under the control of Benito Mussolini invades Albania and annexes the country. Italy mainly battled Albania to gain total control of the Adriatic sea.
  • Nonaggression agreement

    Nonaggression agreement
    The USSR and Nazi Germany sign a 10-year peace agreement with the two countries. The USSR and Nazi Germany within the Nonaggression agreement sign another agreement, dividing Europe into areas of influence. Nazi Germany signed the nonaggression agreement to invade Poland unopposed with any threats. The USSR signed the nonaggression agreement to build its military with war being in the coming.

    Germany invades Poland to start WW2. Germany invaded Poland for "lebensraum", or living space.
  • Italy enters World War II

    Italy enters World War II
    Italy attacked Southern France on June 21st of 1940. Italy was now part of the war effort for the Axis Powers. Italy would attack Southern France due to most of France already being weakened by Nazi Germany.
  • Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the Tripartite act

    Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the Tripartite act
    Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan signed the Tripartite act, creating the Axis Powers. All three of the countries signed this act to establish them all as allies of one another due to each of them embarking on war soon with the Allied Powers.
  • The Axis Powers invade the USSR

    The Axis Powers invade the USSR
    On June 22 of 1941, the Axis Powers invaded the USSR (Soviet Union). Finland joined in the fight as an Axis Power due to them losing territory in the Winter War to the USSR. By September, the Axis Powers reach up to and lay waste to Leningrad of Russia. By this point, the Germans have captured the Baltic states of Russia and Leningrad. On the center-area of the USSR, Germany captures Smolensk in early August. On the South-area of the USSR, Germany captures Kiev and Rostov up to November of 1941.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Japan bombs Pearl Harbor, bringing for the US to declare war on Japan on the 8th of December. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor for American fleets to not interfere​ with Japan gaining all of Asia.
  • The Axis Powers declare war on the US

    The Axis Powers declare war on the US
    On December 11th of 1941, Nazi Germany declares war on the US. From December 12th to December 13th of 1941, Japan and Italy declare war on the US. The Axis Powers declared war on the US due to the US being involved with the Allied Powers and due to the Axis-Powered country Japan launching an attack on Pearl Harbor of the US four days earlier.
  • The Axis Powers reach Stalingrad

    The Axis Powers reach Stalingrad
    The Axis Powers launch an attack on Stalingrad and capture it by mid-September. The Germans move deep into the Caucasus after they control the Crimean peninsula. The Axis Powers wanted to capture Russia due to the large area of control and power of the USSR, the whole attack of Stalingrad would last until September of 1942.
  • The US force for Japan to stop marching towards Australia

    The US force for Japan to stop marching towards Australia
    Japan was moving through the Guadalcanal canal in the Soloman islands to reach Australia. Japan was attempting to reach Australia because if they captured it, the allies would have to have the ongoing war with another new area of Axis control. The US stopped the Axis Powers during the entire month of August to halt the ongoing attack on​ Australia.
  • The Axis Powers surrender in Tunisia

    The Axis Powers surrender in Tunisia
    The Axis Powers Powers surrender in Africa, ending the North African campaign. Due to this, the Axis Powers are now removed from the continent of Africa and are in Europe and Asia. The Axis Powers surrendered North Africa due to the Allied Powers coming in and taking land in Africa, the Axis also surrendered North Africa due to them trying to focus the war effort on Europe.
  • Benito Mussolini's facist regime is defeated and is replaced

    Benito Mussolini's facist regime is defeated and is replaced
    The Ground Fascist council of Italy removes Dictator Benito Mussolini and replaces the dictator with Italian Marshal Pietro Badoglio. From this act of removing Mussolini, the country of Italy is no longer part of the Axis powers.
  • The USSR starts an offensive attack in Eastern Byelorussia

    The USSR starts an offensive attack in Eastern Byelorussia
    The USSR launched a heavy attack on the German forces in Eastern Byelorussia. The German army group center was destroyed in Eastern Byelorussia, forcing Germany to move to central Poland. The USSR gained part of Poland and pushed Germany back in distance covered.
  • Allied troops enter into France

    Allied troops enter into France
    The Frech forces are freed from Nazi Germany, the Allied forces enter the once-viable French capital. By early December, the Western Allied Powers have already freed France, part of Belgium, and part of the Southern Netherlands. The Allied troops entered the German-occupied areas to bring back defeated countries by the Axis powers and to bring down the Axis powers by taking more of their land.
  • The Battle of the Bulge

    The Battle of the Bulge
    The Battle of the Bulge was Germany's final offensive attack in the West. In this battle, Germany attempted to gain back its capital of Belgium from the Western Allied powers.
  • Germany surrenders to the Allied powers.

    Germany surrenders to the Allied powers.
    Germany surrenders to the Western Allied powers on May 7th and surrenders to the USSR on May 9th. Germany surrendered to the Western Allied powers and to the USSR due to Germany being fought on both sides by these two groups, these two groups had already conquered much of Germany prior to the surrender.
  • Japan surrenders

    The Japanese surrender to the Allied forces. The Japanese surrender ends World War II. Japan surrenders because their country had just got nuked in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
