The U.S. takes their first involvement in WWII when they freeze the German and Italian assets -
The U.S. Freezes All Japanese Assets
The Japanese were rapidly taking over territory in the Pacific so in order to slow down the rate at which they were capturing territory the U.S. froze their assets. -
The Japanese Bomb Pearl Harbor
When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor 2,300+ servicemen and 68 civilians were killed. Also 1,100 men were left wounded. -
The U.S. Declares War on Japan
A day after the attack on Pearl Harbor the U.S. declares war on Japan. Three days after the U.S. declares war on Japan, Hitler and Germany declare war on the U.S. -
Italian Dictator is Arrested
Benito Mussolini is arrested and with his arrest the National Fascist Party falls. -
Paris is Liberated
The Ally troops liberate France by capturing the capital, Paris. The German troops flee and the Ally Powers can now focus their efforts on fighting Germany directly. -
Hitler Commits Suicide
When Hitler knows there is no chance of winning the war he and his newly wed wife commit suicide before they can be captured. -
V-E Day
After Germany's unconditional surrender on May 7th, May 8th is declared the Victory in Europe Day. -

Bombing Japan
On August 6th and August 9th two atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima, Japan and Nagasaki, Japan. The devastating affect of these two bombs causes Japan to unconditionally surrender. Over 392,000 people were killed in these two bombings alone. -
V-J Day
Japan announces their unconditional surrender to the U.S. later to be officially signed on September 2nd. -
