    Twenty-six days after the Germans invaded Poland and ten days after the Soviets invaded Poland they surrender. Two days after their surrender the land of Poland is split among the Soviets and Germans.

    The Ally troops liberate France by capturing the capital, Paris. The German troops flee and the Ally Powers can now focus their efforts on fighting Germany directly.

    When Hitler knows there is no chance of winning the war he and his newly wed wife commit suicide before they can be captured.

    V-E Day
    After Germany's unconditional surrender on May 7th, May 8th is declared the Victory in Europe Day.

    Bombing Japan

    On August 6th and August 9th two atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima, Japan and Nagasaki, Japan. The devastating affect of these two bombs causes Japan to unconditionally surrender. Over 392,000 people were killed in these two bombings alone.

    Japan announces their unconditional surrender to the U.S. later to be officially signed on September 2nd.
