also known as ''Victory over Japan day''. VJ celebrates when Japan formally surrendered to the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union on September 2, 1945, ending WW2. -

Japanese-Americans were sent to internment camps to prevent any alliances with their home country as well as to decrease any suspicion of any Japanese being loyal to Japan.
