  • Invasion Of Manchuria

    On September 18th, 1931 to February 27th, 1932 Japan attacked Manchuria. Manchuria is the eastern seaboard of China. The reason Japan did this because, before the great depression, Japan was overpopulated and had a lack of natural resources which was making them suffer. Then once the great depression hit, Japan crumbled. To combat this, they attack Manchuria to gain control. By 1932 Japan had overthrown and gained control of Manchuria.
  • Tripartite

    On September 27th, 1936 there was an agreement to try and stabilize currency values to be equal between French Money and what Great Britain and the US. The agreement was between France, Great Britain, and The United States.
  • Rape of Nanjing

    From December 1937 to January 1938 During the Sino-Japanese war, Japanese forces took over the capital of China and as I would put it, brought hell to China. Over 200,000 people were killed, many were raped and everyone was hurt. This destroyed the city and was a terrible time for the Chinse.
  • Anschluss

    On March 12th, 1938, Austria and Germany announced the union between the two. This Basically gave Hitler more power, land and resources to become a more powerful being.
  • Munich Pact

    September 30th, 1938, An agreement to give Hitler Sudetenland and for the Czechoslovakia population to evacuate Czechoslovakia. This was because Hitler demanded this or else he would throw a tantrum aka call for war. France and Britain were afraid of such so they agreed and gave him all of these demands.
  • Kristallnacht

    November 9th, 1938, the " Night Of Broken Glass" or Kristallnacht was an event which was entirely against Jews. The Nazi's injured and killed Jews, vandalized and destroy Jewish property, businesses, and buildings.Before this night Nazi police avoided violence towards Jew but after this night struck fear into Jews.
  • Non-Aggression Pact

    August 23rd, 1939, An agreement between the Soviet Union and Germany to not attack each other for the next 10 years. This was benefical while it lasted, but later Hitler would break this pact.
  • Invasion of Poland

    September 1st, 1939, Germany invaded Poland. In early morning about 1.5 million German troops stormed into Poland. German u-boats attacked from sea. This angered Britain and France to the point they declared war 2 days later.
  • Evacuation of Dunkirk

    May 27th, 1940, British Expeditionary Force and Allied troops evacuated Dunkirk, Which was the French seaport to England. 340,00 troops were saved by this because German forces were cutting off British soliders from the Allied French.
  • Lend Lease Act

    March 11th, 1941, a principle that meant the US military would aid foreign nations in WW2 was created. They would only aid countries that were not communist and they had to promise free elections. In return, the US would have them as an ally.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    On June 22nd, 1941, Hilter got his troops to do a massive invasion on the Soviet Union. There were over 3 million troops, 150 divisions, and 3 thousand tanks to attack. This act broke the Non-aggression pact
  • Pearl harbor

    December 7th, 1941, a US naval base named Pearl harbor located near Honolulu, Hawaii was attacked in the early morning by hundreds of Japan fighter planes and damaged almsot everything at the base including ships, planes and people.
  • Battle of Midway

    On June 4th, 1942, Battle of Midway begun. The battle at first was unsuccessful for the Americans in the end they won against Japan in a very decisive battle.
  • D-day invasion

    Beginning on June 6th, 1944, an invasion known as D day began. It is when the British, Canadian and American forces landed along 5 beaches or a 50 mile stretch on the French Normandy region to invade. This invasion was successful.
  • Liberation of Paris

    August 1944 to June 1944 Many events happened to Paris. First, the US and Britain took over Paris and took it away from the Nazis. After that Hitler planned to blow up its landmarks and burn the city down before any liberation could happen. But General Dietrich von Choltitz decided against that and Paris was liberated!
  • Battle of the Bulge

    December 16th, 1944, Adolf Hitler attempted to separate the allied armies by sending a blitzkrieg surprise thrust through Adrennes to Antwerp in Northwest Europe. The Americans fought despite being caught off guard. When Hitler tried to get deeper the allies lined up in a large bulge shape giving the battle its name. Hitler lost to this move.
  • Hitlers Suicide

    On April 30th, 1945, Hitler committed suicide. He was in his bunker in the city of Berlin hiding out, realizing the Nazis were losing. Hitler was advised to flee Berlin but instead committed suicide. To do so he took a cyanide capsule and then shot himself in the head.
  • Surrender of Germany

    On May 7th, 1945, Germany surrendered to the war. General Alfred Jodl signed for germany to full surrender to the war. They basically surrendered to the war because they were losing the war.
  • Hiroshima/Nagasaki

    On August 6th, 1945, Hiroshima was bombed by American B-29 bomber, it dropped the worlds 1st atomic bomb. It wiped out 90 percent of the city's population. Then days later a second B-29 dropped another atomic bomb in Nagasaki. It killed an estimated 40,000 people. The reason for this was to get Japan to surrender.
