    In about A.D. 800 a kingdom known as Guana, the Soninke people became weathly and powerful by trading iron and gold in the area of the Sahara. By having iron, the Soninke people made stronger weapons which made it easier to protect their lands. Pg.358

    In 1526, Babur came to be known by conquering the Delhi Sultanate. He established a line of leaders known as the Mughals. They created the greatest Islamic dynasty known in India.     As the Mughals grew, they were able to combine religions and culture into a functioning society. When Babur's son Akbar's great grandson took over, is when Babur's Empire declined.
