    Adolf Hitler took rule in Germany and decided to murder all of the Jews. He created concentration camps and a group called the Nazi. The Nazis murdered six million Jewish people.

    Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. They destroyed 20 vessels and almost 200 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans died during the attack.

    The Vietnamese government was fighting against the Viet Cong because they wanted communist rule. It is the longest war in United States history.
  • President Kennedy is Assassinated

    President Kennedy is Assassinated

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassination

    He was shot while standing on his balcony. After his death, riots and protest began and in the end 40 more people were killed nationally. James Earl Ray was charged with the murder.
  • Neil Armstrong walks on the moon

    The Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969. It was Neil Armstrong's second and last spaceflight. Neil and Buzz Aldrin spent two and a half hours exploring the moon.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    Oklahoma City Bombing
    A bomb was let off in a truck next to the Federal Building in Oklahoma City. It killed 168 people and hundreds were injured. Timothy McVeigh was executed for the crime.

    Four airplanes were hijacked and used as terrorist attacks on the United States. Two planes were flown into the World Trade Center, one hit the Pentagon, and the last one crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

    An Earthquake hit Haiti and it measured at a 7.0 magnitude. It killed more than 230,000 people and to this day people are suffering. The country is having a hard time recovering because it is a 3rd world country.

    The United States had been searching for Osama Bin Laden because they believed he took part in 9/11. They found him in his hiding place and they went there at night and killed him.
