    The Open Door Policy was created by the United States to try and make all countries trading with China equally privileged. This also helped people support China's territory and administration.

    D-Day was the biggest military invasion in history. D-Day put the allies on a path towards victory. Today we celebrate D-Day to honor the work of the allies who overall led us to victory.

    These two bombings were the first times atomic bombs were ever used. These bombings killed tens of thousands of people. These bombings overall contributed to the end of World War II.

    Nelson Mandela and his take on Apartheid was a very important event in history. Apartheid created a very bad social order and allowed African Americans little to no rights. Nelson Mandela sacrificed everything to help gain African American rights.

    The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. made the Black Power Movement even stronger. Black Americans were worried of white people because they felt that they could not trust them. Black Power groups were very common in this time period.

    The one child policy was put into order to try to stop the population growth in China. It basically made it so you could only have one child. This made it so the population ratio of men to women was very uneven.

    The terrorist attacks of 9/11 are very significant in history. There were nearly 10,000 innocent people killed or injured during these attacks. It also led to lots of discrimination against Middle Eastern people because everyone thought they were all bad.
