  • Declaration of Sentiments

    In Seneca Falls, New York 68 women and 32 men-- out of the 300 attendees-- sign the Declaration of Sentiments which demanded equality with men before the law, in education and employment.
  • The First National Women's Convention

    Held in Worcester, MA attracting more than 1000 participants
  • American Woman Suffrage Association

    Lucy Stone, Henry Blackwell, Julia Ward Howe, T.W. Higginson founded a group to fight to get women the right to vote.
  • Wyoming Suffrage Law

    Women gain the right to vote when Wyoming passes the first women's suffrage law. Next year women are serving on Juries
  • Roe vs. Wade

    As a result of Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court establishes a woman's right to safe and legal abortion, overriding the anti-abortion laws of many states.
