    US President, Harry Truman, expanded military assistance against the communists in Indochina. Naval, Air Force, and Army attaches were assigned.

    MacArthur helped the French against Vietnam
    US General, Douglas MacArthur, loaned the French 12 airplanes to begin Operation Castor. The planes flew over Dien Bien Phu in the northwest of Vietnam.
