Although tensions were already high, Germany invading Belgium was a spark to start WW1. Germany continuously took land over, and the invasion of Britain forced war to begin. -

The Germans targeted a U.S. submarine boat, ultimately sinking it and killing thousands of Americans. This causes the Americans to become angry with Germany and may propel them to join the war. -
Assassination of Franz Ferdinand
Archduke Ferdinand was the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne at this time. The objective of this assassination was to corrupt this country and turn them into a Yugoslavia. Tension and anger arose after this devastating event, creating problems between nations. -
Austria Declares War on Serbia
Ultimately, the assassination of Franz Ferdinand forces Austria to declare war on Serbia. It was only one month after Ferdinand was killed on which war was declared. This action effectively starts World War 1. -
Zimmerman Telegram
The Zimmerman Telegram was a message, from Germany, proposing that Mexico should ally with Germany for their own good. Germany is looking out for themselves if they happen to start war with the United States. The U.S. hears of this, and is another event that brings them into the war. -
U.S. Enters War
Finally, the United States feels the need to take command in the war. The are apart of the Allied forces, on the side of Britain and France. They declare war on Germany, partly because of the Zimmerman Telegram and sinking of the Lutisania. -
Armistice Day
The “treaty” to end war is commemorated on November 11, because the allied forces and Germany made an agreement to end World War 1 on this date of the year of 1918. Counties now begin to rebuild and find protection from enemy countries. Germany accepts this offer as they knew fighting the rest of the war may not have been beneficial for the country -
Stalin Appointed
Stalin is appointed General Secretary of the Communist Party. He leads with fierce and relentlessness, and preaches communism throughout the his country. Later, the Soviet Union is created because of Stalin’s leadership. -
Hitler becomes Chancellor
Adolf Hitler becomes chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933. He crates the Nazi party and his power becomes almost uncontrollable. Germany brings fear to the rest of the world and creates a 2nd World War. -
World War 2 Begins
Germany, under the dictatorship of Hitler, invaded Poland and forces the Allied forces to begin war. Hitler continuously invaded its surrounding nations with permission, but the invasion of Poland crossed the border. This is the ultimate cause of ww2.
