  • End of the civil war

    In 1865 the civil war ended birthing the 13th amendment which would abolish slavery.
    This event is important because it was when the African Americans finally be came free in the U.S. with slaves being free that bring in opportunity's for more people to vote in the United States.
  • All males get the right to vote

    In the year 1869 the 15th amendment was born and allowed all males in the united states to vote.
    This is important because this amendment allowed all of the freed slave men to vote. This is a great opportunity for these men to vote on topics that interest them.
  • The south passes laws

    In 1896 the south decided to pass laws that keep African Americans from their right to vote.
    This event lead to a large decrease in voting rights. This is because most of the African Americans who could vote now cant because of laws the south had passed
