13th Amendment
3) The 13th amendment was put into effect right after the Civil War. It band slavery. However it did not give them the right to vote. -

3)The "Grandfather Clause" was a law pass by some states that said if your grandfather could not vote then neather could you. The problem with this was that most African americans grandfathers' at the time had been slaves. -
19th amendment
3) While the 14th amendment gratend them citizenship. Thenther it or the 15th gave woman the right to vote. The women had to fight bitterly for the 19th amendment, and the right to vote. -
