    First Console; The "Brown Box" (1967-68)

  • Pong

    Pong
    pong only had one game but was able to creat more fluent movement with an object. it also became popular and the game itself became an acrade machine. http://content.time.com/time/interactive/0,31813,2029221,00.html
  • Atari 2600 VCS

     Atari 2600 VCS
    The Atari was the first of its kind to use a cartridge whish was used to change the games that you played. Also this console invented one simple feature that would pave the way for the rest of the gaming industry.   • Nintendo Entertainment system (NES)

    Nintendo Entertainment system (NES)
    This console helped to pull the video game industry out of the "videogam crash" and is so well made that it is still considered the best console to this day. it may not have some revolutionary features like the joystick but the graphics and the games itself were alot more advanced. The games it had are now know as the most iconic games, these are "legend of Zelda" and "Super Mario".
  • Gameboy

    The Gameboy was the first of the hand held series and caused many other companys to attempt at recreating this successful brand. It was able to be used anywhere and had a controller built into the actual game system.
  • Super NES

    The Super NES was bulit of of the NES and was a better version of it with better color, better graphics, and a more curved look. The Super NES was also able to save to the ROM and had better sound quality.
  • Playstation

    Playstation
    The playstation was the firsts of a dominating game system brand. whereas most systems used cartridges this used a disc to play the game. This allowed for better graphics, the system could be sleek, and you could give a disc case to the videogame which improved marketing. While the joystick was not needed I believe it would of been better if the controller had one.
  • Nintendo 64

    Nintendo 64
    While this still used cartridges it was the start of 3D games and allowed for games ubove 16-32 bits. The controller was designed to have a unique look but it made it difficult to use.
  • Playstation 2

    Playstation 2
    The PS 2 allowed for some very intricut games that you could roam the world, change the outcome of the game, or just follow the story. It was very well built and had some games that had amazing graphics. They also reverted to adding joysticks which allowed for better movement in 3D games.
  • Gameboy Advanced

    Game boy advanced actually allowed small handheld game to have color (does not count all shades of black and white).thay also came in many variation because some people could not hold on a certain way.
  • Nintendo DS

    The DS was the first to be a handheld and have 2 screens. it also had a joystick D-pad and 4 buttons to play the games with. one big thing that they introduced was the stylus wich was built into the system but could be removed for use.
  • Xbox

    Xbox
    This was microsofts attempt at a game station and itpulled through making a iconic game sysytem and some very iconic games that were exclusive to Xbox. The Xbox had some games thats graphic could be matched to games a few years later. It also was the first controller with the wierd button layout.
