  • The invention of the Model T

    This car was completed on October 1, 1908 and millions were made from then on. It was the most produced car until the Volkswagen Beetle was invented.
  • The Zimmermann Telegram

    This telegram was sent by the German Foreign Minister Arthur Zimmermann to the German delegate in Mexico. The telegram instructed the delegate to invite Mexico to ally with Germany if America joined the war, and in return, the Germans would return the land Mexico lost in the Mexican/American War.
  • The WW1 Armistice

    An Armistice was signed by Germany and their opponents which ceased the war temporarily. It would stop the warfare on land, air and sea long enough for the countries to negotiate a enduring peace.
  • The 19th Amendment

    The US Constitution adopted this amendment which gave equal rights to vote to both men and women. From this amendment, the Federal Government could not deny the right to vote to anyone based on their sex.

    This was the event preceding the crash of Wall Street and the Great Depression. It happened when to many stock prices were sold that ended up taking down business and shutting down banks.

    It was a series of programs and projects that were meant to bring relief to financial, industrial, and physical needs after the Great Depression. It was meant to stabilize the economy.
  • Hitler Becomes Chancellor

    He was able to rise to power largely because Germany still had wounds from WW1 and their economy was in disarray due to the strict rules of the peace treaty.
  • The Munich Pact

    This is the event that took place where France and Britain agreed to not ally with Czechoslovakia when Germany went in to take over Sudetenland, breaking off the alliance France already had with Czechoslovakia.

    This invasion only took a month before Hitler claimed victory. This invasion and victory also launched the world into WW2

    Japan launched a surprise attack on the military base in Hawaii that pulled America into WW2.

    This is when America, British, and Canadian forces landed on France's Normandy Beaches to remove Nazi control from western Europe.
  • The bombing of Hiroshima

    This is when the Untied States dropped an Atomic Bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Between 90,000 and 166,000 people were estimated to have died.
  • The bombing of Nagasaki

    The United States dropped a second bomb 3 days after bombing Hiroshima, and this bomb killed 40,000-75,000 people, while injuring 60,000.
  • The formation of the United Nations

    This was a organization that was tasked with keeping the peace between nations and developing friendly relations.
  • The Long Telegram

    This is when George Kennan sent an 8,000 word telegram to the US from Moscow delivering his views on the Soviet Union and their communist economy and this provided support for the US containment policy for the Union.
  • The formation of the NATO

    This is a government organization that forms an alliance between 29 North American and European countries. It is called the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (wikipedia)
  • The Russians acquire the atomic bomb

    The Russians launched their atomic bomb and it was called "First Lighting".
  • The Korean War

    This war was between North Korea and South Korea after they had split because of the war between the Soviet Union and the United States. This war started when North Korea invaded South Korea.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    This is when the Supreme Court declared the law separating white and black schools unconstitutional.
  • Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat

    While on a bus, Rosa Parks did not sit at the back and refused to give up her seat to a white man. She was kicked off the bus, but her actions helped ignite the civil rights movement.
  • The Vietnam War

    This war divided America and ended with the communist North Vietnam Government taking control of the South Vietnam Government.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    This was a 13 day war between the US and the Soviet Union. It was a war that almost went to nuclear fighting. Missiles were deployed into Cuba
  • John F. Kennedy Assassination

    John F. Kennedy was shot while driving through a parade in Dallas Texas. He died 30 minutes after being shot and Governor Connolly, who was with him, was badly injured.
  • Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

    This launched America's involvement in the Vietnam War. It was made when two US Ships were attacked off the coast of Vietnam.
  • The Apollo Moon Landing

    This is when the first two people landed on the moon, Neil A. Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin.
  • The Watergate Break-ins

    This was a scandal in America when many burglars were arrested in the Democratic National Committee which is located in the watergate buildings in Washington, D.C.
  • Nixon Resigns

    After the watergate scandal, his political reputation was ruined and Nixon resigned before being impeached. His successor, Gerald Ford, issued him a "controversial pardon after he resigned". (Wikipedia)

    This allowed people to cross over the country's boarders in Berlin and move over to the west. This reunited families and friends.

    This is when terrorists launched an attack on the Twin towers in New York, the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and one plane failed and crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
