  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    The Chinese exclusion Act of 1882 was created to discriminate against the Chinese. Passing legislation that targeted the Chinese was brought on by declining wages and economy being blamed on the Chinese.
  • Mexican Repatriation

    During the years of the Great Depression, Mexicans were accused of contributing to the economic turmoil. The United States sponsored the mass deportation of Mexicans as it was believed that Mexicans taking jobs from Americans and depending on public assistance, thus being a drain on public funds. This mass deportation included the deportation of some American citizens of Mexican citizens.
  • Arizona's SB 1070

    This Arizona law was intended to allow law enforcement agencies to detain or deport anyone they suspected of being an illegal immigrant. This, in essence, allowed the law enforcement agencies to racially profile people and the harrassment of hispanics.
  • President Trump's Muslim Ban

    President Trump signed the executive order to ban the entrance of peoples from 7 countries that had a predominantly Muslim population. President Trump attempted to justify the ban by claiming that the countries posed a threat to the United States. This was President Trump discriminating against Muslims because he believes there is a correlation between the religion and terrorism.
