And polk created the slogan to call for the expansion of Texas, California and Oregon territory. and the northern boundary of Oregon was 54 degrees and 40 minutes which is how the slogan was created.

    The slogan is important because James Polk was able to have many victories using the slogan. And this is how James expanded the territory North and this slogan was used for expansionism.

Also slavery was maintain and the capital and slave trade was limited. But this compromise led to many changes for the North and South that they disagreed with or even favored.

    This law force people to assist in capturing runaway slaves, and people who decided to help had slaves could be punished if someone were to tell on them. Also this law had basically allowed slavery to continue because slaves had to be returned. And in fact this law made it impossible for slaves to escape. And the creation of this law shows how far Southerners Senate want to achieve their slave territory goal.

    This act was able to amend a popular severity which allowed settlers in a territory to determine if slavery should or should not exist which is a huge impact to the community. And this act even led to many violent confrontations were many people are killed each other over opposing views which was later called "Bleeding Kansas".
