    This is any party that has failed votes to outpoll either of the two strongest rivals. The third parties politics forces to address any issues that haven't previously addressed very much. They can also take away votes from one of the major political party candidates.

    The populism movement was farmers or those associated with agriculture believed that industrialists and bankers controlled the government and making the policy against the farmers. The progressivism movement was that they continue their struggle by remaining in the political mainstream.

    Andrew Jackson, from Tennessee, was a forceful segregated of Indians. In 1814 he commanded the U.S. military forces that defeated a faction of the Creek nation. In their defeat, the Creeks lost 22 million acres of land in southern Georgia and Alabama

    She was very passionate about nature. Susan was a teacher for 15 years and later became part of the Woman's rights movement. Also dedicated the rest of her life to Woman Suffrage.

    This act enacted that every citizen or intended citizen could claim 160 acre of government land. The people that claimed that land were responsible for making it better by dwelling and cultivating the land.

    The industrialization was a time in America where the machines supported the production of goods. It was a period of time were Europe and America became industrial and urban. Industrialization powered machines and factories so no more companies were at home with hand tools or basic machines.

    He established the American Railway Union. He was part of the Terre Haut of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firearm. Many Terre Haut's workers supported him to get higher and supported every decision he made.

    She led the anit-lynching crusade during the 1890's. She rode a train and paid for the first class train ticket, but later was asked to move to the African American section and she refused to. Wells was also a teacher in one of the segregated public schools in Memphis.

    He was part of the Democratic convection. He made a Cross of Gold speech in favor of free silver. Bryan believed the government should protect the individuals and the democratic process from monopolistic corporations.

    This was a time were gold was discovered in north-western Canada. Many people went out to look for gold, which many were successful and became rich and other were not so and didn't get any profit from it. Some miners just bought and claimed and later hired others to look for the gold.

    The initiative and referendum were powers given to the voters to propose of repeal legislation or to remove an elected official from office. This allows many U.S. citizens to place new legislation on a popular ballot. To do any of this the citizens must apply and get a serial number from the town clerk.

    This was a time of rapid economic growth and social conflict. This left many people become really rich making fortunes but also it left many people still struggling for survival.

    Theodore Roosevelt came up with this term during one of his speeches. With this he tried to compare the investigative reporters to the narrow-minded figure in John Bunyan 17th century religious fable. Muckraker were journalist who attacked established institutions and leaders.
