    Colonist who settled at James river had difficult findings of food and sources of support.About half of the southern colonies came to America indentured servants and once freed from contract they were given a small amount of land in the colony.The colony of maryland was of a catholic,establishing churches of all religions and was also strong in terms of economic and social structures.Farmers in Pennsylvania had farms for a variety of crafts to earn money
  • First established colony ( Virginia)

    Established in 1607 as the first colony, Tobacco was primarily a export to make money at the time. Governed by a council, by a council president, bu ended 1619. Relationship with england, the english had a reliance for food and specific needs at times to survive, conflicted with people within jamestown.
  • House of Burgesses

    House of Burgesses became the first legislative branch and democratic type of government in the US. It was also useful during the Revolutionary war, due to having a creation of a newly organized government in america.
  • Mayflower Compact

    The Mayflower compact were rules set aside created by english settlers, making it important because self government in the new world. The main ideas within the Mayflower compact was it's expression of faith in god and of loyalty to Native England's and the king.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Bacon's rebellion was of was of a wealthy class that had power in virginia, and due to this, it led to growth of slave trade, controllable, and a more permanent labor source. Although not meeting his goal with the rebellion, it had bigger issues colonies had tot deal with such as social class struggles, Native American struggles, and the governments responsibility towards the people.

    The Great Awakening was of a religious aspect return that has an impact on the colonies.Christianity was being spread,emphasizing the gospel and its importance.During this time the enlightenment also known as the age of reason,was making its way to down to american colonies and it's ideas were more of a logical reasoning,pushing away religion and how it was about wealth and rationalism. Because of this the 13 colonies had became divided,most of new england were congregational churches.
  • Zenger Trial

    The Zenger trial was of revolutionary ideas being evolved, John Peter Zenger was one of the important event to uphold American freedom for American Colonist. Zenger was charged for false stories and harming the british governor William Cosby. Andrew hamilton was Zenger's Lawyer in the case stating it was the truth and not a criminal offence, later resulting to steps to the Freedom of Press.

British have had numerous defeats with Native American alliances, eventually leading to the Treaty of Paris, with France losing territory to Canada and gave Louisiana to Spain.
