    Native Culture 1491

    we learn about the native Cultures. For example, the Great plain Natives, Southweast and southeast Natives. The Northeast Natives were more stable and did agriculture. The Alaskan Natives were also more stable and hunted seals for fat. Also there were the Incan, Mayan, and Aztecs.

    Many Native and indigenous groups were living before the arrival of Colombus. some of the were the Incas, Aztecs, and Mayans. They lived in SOuth and Central America. Then someof them like the Arctic Natives lived in the Arcti and hunted Seals. the Great plain natives wee more nomadic, and lived in tepees; they traveled a lot because of the buffalos. The Northeastern Natives were more stationary and did agriculture.

    Europeans move to the Americas

    In 1492 christopher Colombus arrives to Hispanola and looks for gold. AFter that, many Spanish explrers like Hernan Cortez, and Franscisco Pizzaro arive to SOuth and Central AMerica. These were funded by Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. Soon many other European countries started to expand to the AMericas

    Arrival of the Europeans

    During this time, Christopher Colombus arrived to Hispaniola. He was asked by the Queen Isabel and King Ferdinand. After this, many other voyages by the Spanish started, like Hernana Cortez and Fransisco Pizarro in South and Central AMerica. After this, amny more Europeans started to come to the AMericas.

    Slave trade

    During this time, the Portuguese started to arrive for Africa for cheap labor. They started to enslave many Africans and making them work on plantations. After colonization and the conquistadores arriving to the Americas, they decided to use slaves. In that case, they brought slaves from the Portugese in West Africa. This started the Atlantic Slave Trade.

    French Claims

    During this time, the French started to send explorers to explore the AMerics. One of them was in 1934 by Jacques Cartier who explored the st.Lawrence River. They were exploring, but they did not start colonizing the Americas until after 600s.
  • 1570

    English Claims

    Queen Elizabeth started to attack Spanish ships, and stole their gold. By this, the English traveled to Peru. Then in 1587, Walter Raeligh founded the Roanoke colony, but that failed. After the 1600s, they started to set up colonies and colonizes North America.
  • Dutch Claims

    During this time, the Netherlands started to sponsor voyages. One of the sponsored men was Henry Hudson. In one of his voyages, he sailed up a river. That river is known as the Hudson River in New York: New York was then founded and called New Amsterdam.
