United States invade Cuba (declared War on Spanish controversy) Future2/3
The spanish neglected the Cuban and put them in deathly like reconcentration camps that held piles of dead and alive bodies. Some people believed it was their humanitarian duty to help these people from dying off. Others believe that invading would help the economy because of the sugar, sugar demands were increasing during this time. This is future 2 because the U.S. is invading to help their own interest (sugar). Also future 3 because it is helping the Cuban people become more stable. -
Treaty of Paris (future1/2)
This war was the first time that the United States was recognized for becoming a world power.Spain renounced all claim to Cuba, ceded Guam and Puerto Rico to the United States. U.S. acquisition of terrorism in the western Pacific and Latin America. The victorious United States now viewed as a world power with overseas possessions and a new stake in international politics. This is future one and two because the U.S. becomes a world power and is protecting its global interests. -
World War 1 break out
Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip assassinated Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria, in Sarajevo. Exactly one month later, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. This was the start of WWI. U.S. proclaimed neutral to the war. -

Evidence: “ Only a peace between equals can last, only a peace the very principle of which is equality and a common participation in a common benefit”
Future? Future 3 being equal and working together. Future 4 because the peace of a war will never last, loosing many people for a victory is still a loss. -

Invaded Poland and other european countries. Nazi Leader.
Jews were an easy target because they were very rich and were of a different religion, viewed as a threat. After the war Germans entered politics. 1934 Hitler took over Foreign policy U.S. Foreign policy was that AMerica should be isolated. Good neighbor policy was created. Good way to strengthen foreign relations

Pearl harbor attack by Japan- Didn’t like our lack of involvement

Now engaged in the war because U.S directly effected by Japan's attack
Arms race- want to win the war and after it's over established as a world power so no one messes with us

Dropping atomic bombs
America dropped atomic bombs on Japan to get them to surrender and save America lives from being lost. Future 4 because America was protecting the homeland and home lives. -
Separating Korea
When the World War II Japanese occupation of the Korean Peninsula ended in 1945 when the United Nations gave control of the North to the Soviets and the South to the United States. Separate nations (North Korea\South Korea) were established in 1948.
Future1: They separated and the United States took control of the South to stop the spread of communism. -

U.S. policy got involved to set up a military base and set up a puppet government.

North Korea invading the South
North Korea wanted to unify so they invaded the South in 1950, this caused the Korean War in which the United States supported the South, and China and the Soviet Union backed the North. Future3: The United States fought the North helping the South to fight communism -
The vietnam war
American troops went to South Vietnam to stop the spread of communism. Vietnam was split the North was run by communism and South by the French emperor.
Future 1: to spread democracy because the goal was to defeat communism. -

President Kennedy sent American troops to vietnem to help train the South Vietnamese army , but they quickly realized it was hopeless.
Future1: Sending troops to help win the war that is fighting to stop communism. -
The Vietnam war resolution
Nixon and the military had been secretly bombing Cambodia heavily since 1969, they denied the charge. This lead to the congress getting angry and vetoing Nixon's War Power Resolution.
Future4: because they are protecting the people's rights to have a say in their government.
