    The earthquake that caused the tsunami had a 9.5 magnitude. The tsunami had waves that reached a height of 80 ft on the Chilean coastline. Death total was not confirmed; however, it is approximated at 1,600 people. 2 million were left homeless and 3,000 were injured.
