Sugar/Revenue Act
It aimed to end the the smuggling trade in sugar and molasses (After the Molasses Act failed) from the Non-English colonies by increasing taxes on foreign products of this kind; in order to recover from the costs of The Seven Years War.

Increase of taxes on imports (paper, tea,etc.), to get recovered form the French and Indian War. The governemnt also suspended representative assemblies. Tenssion between the settlers and parliament grew even more.

Angry settlers (Sons of liberty) in Boston bordered a tea vesseland and threw tea boxes to the sea in protest to the Tea Act. It resulted in the Intolerable Acts.

A series of measures enacted by the British Parliament as a consequence of colonial resistance to the British government, specially in Boston.

First Continental Congress
In response to the Intolerable Acts, delegates from each colony met in Philadelphia. John Adams drafted the Declaration of Rights which said that America didn´t need to respect decisions by Parliament that involved domestic affairs within America.
