    Sir Borden was the 8th prime minister of Canada'. He guided and led Canada through one of its worst moments in history which was World War 1. He helped to keep everyone’s faith high in the war and always came up with new ideas to get people to donate money towards funding the war which was used for new supplies and weapons. (+1)

    World War 1 started in 1914, nobody knew how long the war would last. Some believed it would only be four months, but it turned out to be 4 years. Canada fought in the war in order to stay true to their alliance and stay loyal to its mother country Britain. (0)

    War Artists were artists who displayed the war through many mediums and different types of media for those who were not fighting in the war. This helped those at home and gave them a sense of what is going on in the war along with daily and weekly updates so people could stay updated. (+1)

    John McCrae is the author behind the renowned poem "In Flanders Fields" which he wrote when battling in the Second Battle of Ypres. He noticed the wild poppies growing peacefully in the field despite the deadly war scenery around. John was able to notice the good things in the bad things surrounding him. This help to give him a sense of hope. Later his poem would give others hope. (+1)

    The Battle at Vimy Ridge started on April 9th, 1917 and ended on April 12th, 1917, three days later. To most this battle is a defining moment for Canada, because this was the first time all four of the Canadian Army Divisions came to fight together at one. (+2)

    During World War 1, many of the men were away battling, so Sir Borden issued the Wartime Voting Act which allowed relatives of the men fighting in the war to vote in the up and coming election. (+2)

    World War 1 officially ended on November 11, 1918 at 11:00am. This treaty created peace between both opposing groups. The treaty came up its terms and conditions but overall and most importantly stopped the war from going on any longer. Approximately eight million people were killed and about twenty-three million wounded with countless others hurt but not physically in a span of four years. (+2)

    The roaring twenties brought many advances from small radios to cars and the ways of transportation. Electric ice boxes along with washing machines were invented. Finally Jukeboxes, plane upgrades, instant cameras, the first electrical TV and many other inventions. (+2)

    This year (1929) was when women were finally given the right to be considered "persons." Therefore, allowing them to legally be able to do quite a few things they couldn't beforehand. (+2)
