John gets TB and is cant enlist because of his lungs which proves to be detrimental. He was getting taken care of by Jessie Pattersen which then he falls for her then repeatedly lies to her about the situation between him and his wife because he doesn't want her to find out he is married -
Polly makes up her mind and wants to go see Jack
Polly notifies her family on Hogmany that if John dont contact her by April she will go over to Canada to see him -

Polly first arrives to Canada at 11:28 am which then she gets on a train to see her husband in Regina -
Polly arrives at Regina
Polly gets off the train in regina which she hopes John would be waiting for her there which he wasnt because he was actual in PA, she calls John he tells her to meet him in stoon which after he takes her back to Regina. Polly then finds the letters between John and Jessie, and that Jessie is in love with him. -
John moves to Saskatoon
he moves to Stoon where he is in the middle of Jessie and Polly -
John kills Polly
John is driving Polly in Jessie’s car. John has a gun and shovel in the backseat. It’s getting late so he changes his plans and decides that they are going to Blaine Lake instead, so that Polly can explain to Jessie that Polly and John are married and that she should back off. They go on a rural road and John stops to shoot some geese. Then he points the gun at Polly's head, and shoots the top of her head off. Then buries her body in a hole he dug under the culvert -
John gets a marriage licence
He gets a marriage licence so he and Jessie can get married -
Old Johnny boy burns the car
he burnt the car he shot Polly in said the fire started in the trunk just for them not to realize what he did -
