TELEVISION
A television is a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on screens, chiefly used to broadcast programs for entertainment, information, and education. When I asked my mom of the media which was first exposed to me, she told me that it was the television. Before, the television was still bulky and thick unlike the new ones now. Perhaps, I was introduced to this at an early stage because my mom let me watch cartoons and other baby stuffs before. -
DVD PLAYER
A DVD player is a device that plays DVD discs produced under both the DVD-Video and DVD-Audio technical standards, two different and incompatible standards. As I was turning two, I already began to watch some DVDs of Barbie and Princess Fairytales. Of course, a DVD will run if there is a DVD player. That was the first time that I knew how it works. It is essential for me because it is what I use to watch nursery rhymes. -
BOOK
A book is a set of sheets of paper, parchment, or similar materials that are fastened together to hinge at one side. This one is really considered as an important stuff that a person must possess. People of any age should not stop learning and books are essential in knowing and discovering new things in life. Books were first introduced to me by my mother because she loved reading bible stories for us during bedtime. Growing up, I really had a thing to books. -
MY FIRST CELLULAR PHONE
A cellular phone is a telephone with access to a cellular radio system so it can be used over a wide area, without a physical connection to a network. I remember when I was in Preparatory Level, my mom gave me my first cellphone (Nokia) so I can update her when I was already dismissed and when emergency cases happen. Way back, I was not yet that familiar to texting that's why I liked calling more. I was already glad playing snakes that time. Now, I realized that life was really simpler then. -
NEWSPAPER
A newspaper is a serial publication containing news about current events, other informative articles about politics, sports, arts, and so on, and advertising. Since I was young, our house already contains different volumes of newspapers but I did not notice them immediately because I was not yet familiar of what it really contains. I began to understand the parts of newspaper when our teacher required us to bring one and discussed more about it. Indeed, newspapers are really helpful for people. -
GAME BOY
The Game Boy is an 8-bit handheld video game device which was developed and manufactured by Nintendo. This picture was my source of entertainment and enjoyment before. It was those years when I do not know anything about social media. I can say that this was one of my happiest memories because playing this gadget was really fun; you can change your games when you buy another badge. There were times when I compete with my little brother with the use of this game boy. -
PERSONAL COMPUTER
A personal computer is a general-purpose, cost-effective computer that is designed to be used by a single end-user. Computers before have many parts. There are the keyboards, mouse, desktop, system unit & etc. Unlike today, we can prove how media has evolved because of the inventions of laptop where keyboards, mouse & desktop are all in one device. The personal computer was a great help for me as I was growing up. My facebook account was made in a PC and my first online game was played there. -
MAGAZINE
A magazine is a publication, usually a periodical publication, which is printed or electronically published. Magazines are generally published on a regular schedule and contain a variety of content. There are lots of magazine issues in our house because my mom is fond of reading such. With the influence of her, I also liked reading some articles written on it. I liked reading magazines because they are colorful and full of images. -
RADIO
A radio is the transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves of radio frequency, especially those carrying sound messages. Radios give people updates on current issues through it AM. Also, it shares some songs to the listeners by the FM. This device was introduced to me when I was young and when I wanted to listen to musics which are randomly played. -
LAPTOP
A laptop is a portable personal computer powered by a battery, or an AC cord plugged into an electrical outlet, which is also used to charge the battery. This kind of media is very handy and at the same time, very useful. It can be brought anywhere it is needed. For me, a laptop is important because this is where my documents are located and it is where I do my assignments, researches and other activities. In our society today, different features of laptops have been invented. -
OVERHEAD PROJECTOR
An overhead projector is a variant of slide projector that is used to display images to an audience. I remember when I was in elementary, this projector was an essential device to us for our classroom discussions. This was used by our teachers to present lessons and other activities for the class. -
MP3 PLAYER
A MP3 Player is a device for playing MP3s or other digital audio files. This was one of my favorite media because I love listening to songs of my favorite singers and bands. Listening to music calms my soul whenever I am sad or stressed. -
TABLET
A tablet is a wireless, portable personal computer with a touchscreen interface. The tablet form factor is typically smaller than a notebook computer, but larger than a smartphone. This tablet has the same functions as the personal computer and laptop. Through the years, this device was just invented to make life more convenient with our daily tasks. -
LED PROJECTOR
A projector is an object that is used to project rays of light, especially an apparatus with a system of lenses for projecting slides or film onto a screen. After the use of Overhead Projector, the LED Projector came into life. I believe that this is just a more advanced version of OHP because it also has the same function as this projector has. Until this time, this device is used in classrooms, meetings and other conferences.
