  • Ending of the Cold War

    On this day Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met with US president George Bush met on a Soviet ship docked at Malta and ended hostilities.
  • Fall of the Birlin Wall

    On this day the Berlin wall fell separating East and West Berlin.
  • 27th Amendment Passed by Congress

    On this day the 27th Amendment was passed by Congress. This amendment dealt with the pay raises or decreases for members of Congress.
  • Bill Clinton Elected as President

    On this day William Howard Taft won the election for president against William Jennings Bryan. He was a Democrat.

  • September 11 Attacks

    On this day the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda attacked four different targets, three of which were successful. Two airline planes crashed into the North and South World Trade Center Towers. One airline plane crashed into the Pentagon. The last plane crashed before its target after the passengers stopped the attack.
