The cellphones made by Martin Cooper, would not be a big deal to people today. This cellphone was very large and heavy, compared to cellphones today. This hefty cellphone weighed about 30 ounces. Nowadays, cellphones weigh nearly half of that.

    The Motorola DynaTAC 8000x
    On March 6, 1983, Motorola released The DynaTAC 8000x cellphone. This cellphone was nearly half the weight and a little bit smaller than the first cellphone created. The cost of this cellphone was $3,995. The phone let you talk for 30 minutes and took 10 hours to recharge.

    On January 3, 1996, Motorola released the lightest and smallest cellphone in that that time period. This phone designed to look like a clamshell was called the StarTAC. The StarTAC costed £1400. This was the most expensive cellphone of its time. This mobile phone had many features, like vibrating alerts, 99 phonebook contacts, and speed dial. The DynaTAC 8000x has evolved into this slimmer, smaller, and lighter phone.

    On September 21, 2012, Apple came out with the iPhone 5. This new phone is the slimmest phone on the market. It has music, apps, internet, navigators, and most of all Seri. Seri is a new app invented, were one speaks into the phone and asks it question and it answers it for one. Many phones nowadays have these features and have evolved since the Motorola DynaTAC until the newest iPhone 5.
