Case against Texas' abortion laws. It had the public opinion equally divided for the most part and cause controversy throughout the state because of the split. -
Obergefell v. Hodges
A case against the same sex marriage ban. Majority of Americans now favor marriage equality with no prejudice although it was not always that way. It was not a triumph for democracy, however it did cause controversy because many church and regilious leaders strongly disagreed with it. Eventually gay marriage was legalized.
