  • June 28, 1919, Treaty of Versailles signed

    The Treaty of Versailles is a peace document that was signed by the opposing forces at the end of World War 1 in the Hall of mirrors in the palace of Versailles, France with the Germans. It was signed on June 28th, 1919 and took force on January 20th, 1920.
  • January 24, 1920, League of Nations.

    The League of Nations was an international group that took place in Geneva, Switzerland and was developed after the first World War as a way to solve disputes between countries before it broke out into open warfare. It was first proposed by President Woodrow Wilson as part of his fourteen points plan for peace in Europe.
  • October 19, 1922, Fascism Rise in Italy

    Italian Fascism ruled Italy from 1922 and carried on till 1943. It was an authoritarian political movement under the leadership of Benito Mussolini who was an Italian Politician and Journalist. Italian Fascism inspired other countries such as Germany, Japan, and Latin America between World War 1 and World War 2, even though fascism is only referred to Italian Fascism.
  • October 29, 1929, The Great Depression

    The Great Depression was the worst economic downturn that began in 1929 and carried on for the next ten years. It was caused by a number of serious weaknesses in the economy, which began with the dramatic crash of the stock market on "Black Thursday", October 24, 1929 when 16 million shares of stock were sold by investors who had lost faith in American economy.
  • 1930, Dust Bowl

    The Dust Bowl began in the 1930's in the midwest and was an environmental disaster of massive dust storms. It caused crops to die due to the lack of rain, mountains of dirt on everything, suffocated livestock, and pneumonia in children. According to scientists it was the largest drought in North America in 300 years.
  • January 30, 1933, Hitler becomes Chancellor

    In 1933 on January 30th the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP), or more commonly known as the Nazi Party takes control when president Paul Von Hindenburg appoints Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler as Chancellor. At first they didn't want Adolf Hitler to become Chancellor, but after many arguments in what had been a huge tangled not of political infighting and backstabbing it finally resulted in Adolf Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany.
  • January 8, 1935, Elvis Presley was born

    Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was commonly known as the "King of Rock and Roll" or "The King" for his amazing singing and acting. Elvis was regarded as one of the most significant icons of the 20th century. He soon sadly died on the 16th of August, 1977, due to a heart attack.
  • March 19, 1936, Remilitarization of the Rhineland

    On the 19th of March, 1936, German military forces invaded the Rhineland. This action was directly against the Treaty of Versailles, which the defeated Germany had accepted. Germany had claimed that the treaty was hostile to them so Adolf Hitler send out troops from the German military to invade the Rhineland.
  • July 17, 1936, Spanish Civil war

    The Spanish Civil War was one of the biggest and bloodiest conflicts since the end of World War 1. It began on the 17th of July, 1936 and carried on till the 1st of April, 1939 and caused over 200,000 thousand deaths, due to the result of systematic killings, mobs, torture or other types of brualities. The Spanish army started the war by rebelling against the Second Republic, which displaced millions of spaniards.
  • September 1st, 1939, Germany invades Poland

    German forces invaded Poland on Adolf Hitler's command on land and in the air as he seeks to regain lost territory and to take over Poland. They attacked with massive numbers of troops, tanks and artillery and ended up victorious, but Great Britain responded with bombing raids over Germany three days after the attack.
