  • Skylab Is Launched

    Skylab Is Launched
NASA launched Skylab, the very first space station, on May 14, 1973 for the first time. Skylab proved that humans can live and work in space for an extended periods of time. It was launched from Launch Pad 39A, Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, Florida.
Since Skylab was the first space station to be launched by the U.S., it was a big deal. It was designed for long duration missions to expand our knowledge of the solar system.
  • Skylab Is Launched II

    Skylab Is Launched II
The main purpose of Skylab was to prove that humans can live and work in space for long periods of time.
Skylab lead to the building of the ISS. After Skylab's forth launch, it crashed 1979. Because of Skylab, NASA was able to create a better station that is more durable and able to last longer. The ISS has been in space for a continuous 17 years, whereas Skylab was in the air off-and-on for 6 years.
  • Skylab Is Launched III

    Skylab Is Launched III
I would've wanted to attend the launch of Skylab because, it was to the first space station the U.S. had ever launched. During the launch, a micro-meteoroid shield broke off, pulling a solar panel off with it, leaving the station exposed to solar radiation. The temperature in Skylab rose to 126 degrees Fahrenheit. If I were to have been there, I would've told NASA to secure the micro-meteoroid shield better to prevent the problem from happening.
  • Apple Computer Released

    Apple Computer Released
Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs released the first apple computer on April 1, 1976. The computer was made to be first personal computer. It was built in Steve Jobs' garage in Los Altos, California.
Apple products have revolutionized the way we work and play today. It all started with the Apple 1 computer. The computer was able to connect to a regular TV, which nobody had seen before.
  • Apple Computer Released II

    Apple Computer Released II
The Apple 1 computer was the beginning of all Apple products. Only 200 computers were made and over half of the computers were sold for $666.66. There are only 8 working computers today. The Apple 1 computer lead to iPhones, iPads, bluetooth, and "portable internet". The technology used today started with the Apple 1 computer.
  • Apple Computer Released III

    Apple Computer Released III
Helping build or launch the first Apple computer would've been fun to be a part of because of how much it is used in life today and how much we rely on it. The one thing I would've done, had I been there, would've been to spread the news and let people know more about the computer, so the industry would have taken off faster.
  • Mount St. Helens Erupted

    Mount St. Helens Erupted
On May 18, 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted. The volcano is located in Skamania County, Washington. When North America's plate and the Juan de Fuca plate collided, it caused magma, and bubbles to rise to the top of the Earth and spew out lava.
  • Mount St. Helens Erupted II

    Mount St. Helens Erupted II
The eruption of Mount St. Helens caused the biggest landslide to have ever been recorded. The landslide was 230 square miles traveling speeds up to 150 miles per hour. The landslide destroyed 250 houses, 185 miles of highway, 15 miles of railway, and 4 billion trees. The eruption caused 64 deaths and $1.1 billion of damage. Citizens of Skamania County weren't worried about the eruption until they saw clouds of ash in the sky above them.
  • Mount St. Helens Erupted III

    Mount St. Helens Erupted III
From the eruption of Mount St. Helens, similar volcano landslides have been identified at over 200 volcanos around the world. The eruption also lead to more safety precautions in cities near potential volcano eruptions.
It would've been been a once-in-a-lifetime thing to see Mount St. Helens erupt. Only a couple of people actually witnessed the eruption happen. The only thing I could've done to change the outcome, was to warn the people who lived in Washington to decrease the number of deaths.
  • DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals

DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals
In 1987, Tommie Lee Andrews was the first person, in the U.S., to be found guilty with the use of DNA In the Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida, Tommie Lee Andrews was found guilty of rape by finding a match between his DNA and bodily fluids t the crime scene.
This event is unique because connecting DNA to perpetrator is way more accurate than using hair or skin found at the crime scene. DNA is also the most reliable piece of physical evidence because, no two people have the same DNA.
  • DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals II

DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals II
DNA is used to convict or link criminals to specific crimes. Using DNA is a much quicker, easier, more accurate way to find criminals. The more crimes a criminal commits increases the chance of him being found because DNA is so accurate. Criminals knowing that, are less likely to commit more crimes.
  • DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals III

DNA Is First Used To Convict Criminals III
There is nothing I could've done to make this event more significant than it already is. DNA makes finding criminals so much more easier. Having a link between DNA and a suspect in court has a 99% chance of the suspect being found guilty.
  • First Cloned Mammal is Born

    First Cloned Mammal is Born
On July 5, 1996, Dolly the sheep was born. Dolly was the first mammal to have been successfully cloned from an adult cell. She was cloned and born at the Roslin Institute in Midlothian, Scotland.
  • First Cloned Mammal Is Born II

First Cloned Mammal Is Born II
There were two different sides to the cloning event. Supporters argued that cloning technology would lead to advance in medicine, it would lead to animals being genetically modified so they could be organ donors for humans, and develop treatments for diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's .Non-supporters of animal cloning saw that it would lead to human cloning.
  • First Cloned Mammel Is Born III

First Cloned Mammel Is Born III
Since Dolly was born, other sheep, cats, horses, donkeys, pigs, goats, cattle, and mice have been cloned. Cloning could become more useful to create elite breeding livestock. Scientists also believe that cloning will prevent species from becoming endangered.
I would've liked to attend the birth of Dolly because it was the first successful cloning of a mammal. During the cloning of Dolly, I would've recommended to prevent Dolly from having arthritis in her hind legs.
  • President Clinton Was Impeached

    President Clinton Was Impeached
The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton was impeached form his position as President from office on December 19, 1998 for two reasons. One, lying under oath to a federal grand jury. Two, obstructing justice.
  • President Clinton Was Impeached II

    President Clinton Was Impeached II
The impeachment of President Clinton was unique because people did not agree with this decision. People felt sympathy for Clinton because they felt the crimes he committed weren't significant and that the questions asked were inappropriate for his lies had concerned his personal life.
  • President Clinton Was Impeached III

    President Clinton Was Impeached III
From this event, people believed that whenever Congress was controlled by the party opposing the President, the President would be in jeopardy of being impeached. From the impeachment of President Clinton, future presidents learned to become more private about their personal life.
There is no specific reason as to why I would've wanted to attend this event. I just believe it was a significant event that people had very different opinions about, and I would've liked to be there when it happened.
  • Attack On The Twin Towers

    Attack On The Twin Towers
On September 11, 2001, a group of Islamic extremists, lead by Osama bin Laden, attacked the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon, outside of Washington D.C.
  • Attack On The Twin Towers II

Attack On The Twin Towers II
This attack caused 3000 deaths and 10,000 injuries. The Islams bombed the north tower at 8:45 a.m. Then 18 minutes later, a second plane bombed the south tower. After the attack, many Americans were afraid of another terrorist attack.
  • Attack On The Twin Towers III

Attack On The Twin Towers III
Since the attacks on the Twin Towers, terrorism has become worse and the whole world has become more conscious of terrorists and their attacks. The U.S. still isn't in the best conditions with Saudi Arabia.
I would not have wanted to attend the attack on the Twin Towers because it was very dangerous and I could've easily died. Although, to help prevent the attack, I would've somehow warned the U.S. that were we going to be under attack.
  • Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain

Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain
On December 11, 2008, researchers from Japan discovered that you can reconstruct images on a monitor, from a person's brain. The researchers discovered this phenomenon at Hirosawa Wako City, Saitama.
The extracting of images from the brain is unique because it is a way to see what people are thinking. This technology and development could lead to viewing people's dreams. People's first reaction was fear of what could become of the advanced technology.
  • Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain II

Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain II
In the future, we could be able to see what other people, in color, view dreams, accurately tell what people are thinking, and help doctors see through the minds of ill patients. Using this technology is like having a superpower that takes longer than a few seconds to occur and is also more complicated. Since the event only happened about 10 years ago, it hasn't had much time to change the future.
  • Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain III

Scientists Extract Images Directly From The Brain III
I would've wanted to attend this event because I would want to see what other people are seeing. I could't have really made a difference by attending this event.
  • Changing The World

When I graduate, I'm going to go to college. Then I'll get married. My job will be how I change the world. . .well really my community. I want to renovate and fix-up houses starting in my community. By renovating houses, I can give nicer homes and more homes to people. I also make the community look nice and not have old, broken looking houses. Renovating houses will start by changing my community and eventually I will change other communities, which will lead to hopefully the world.
