The Beginning
Tim Buron started filmmaking in his pre-teen years. He would make short films using stop motion animation. His oldest surviving film is "The Island of Doctor Agnor" which he made wen he was 13 years old. -
After High School
Afe graduting from Burbank High School, he enrolled at the California Intitute of Arts for character animation. While studying here he made films like "Stalk of the celery Monster" and "King Octopus" before graduating in 1979. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1LDok9LxVE -
Walt Disney Studios
He worked as an apprentice animator at Walt Disney Studios. This didn't last very long due to creative differences. During his short time spent at Disney, he made films Vincent, Hansel and Gretel and Frankenweenie. -
Next Big Successes
The great success that came with his short films led him to direct a sequel for one of his characters Pee-wee Herman. The film was titled Pee-wee's Big Adventure. This was highly successful and allowed him to direct several ithr films such as Bettlejuice and Batman. These films were big hits and established his name as a top notch director. -
Scissorhands
Next came, what is said to be his best film to this day, Edward Scissorhands. He followed this movie up with sequels to Batman also receiving positive responses. -
Nightmare before Christmas
Burton penned and produced The Nightmare before Christmas. This animated musical was hugely successful. -
Next Project
He came up with his next project Planet of the Apes. The film got mixed reactions but he followed this up with Big Fish which wenton t be nominated fo four Golden Globes and received an Academy Award nomination. -
Ending the Decade
In 2005 he came up with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride. He ended the decade with Bones, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street an 9. Both Sweeney Todd and 9 went on to receive many nomination and awards. -
Alice
In 2010 he started the new decade with Alice in Wonderland. This film went on to receive 2 Academy Awards. -
The Sequel
In 2012 he made a sequel to his 1984 short film FrankenWeenie. -
What's to Come
His future films include Big Eyes, Monsterpocalypse and Deep. He's reportedly working on a sequel to Bettlejuice an recently released an adaptation of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
