Thomas Samuel Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 17, 1922. -
College
Kuhn obtained a BSc degree in physics from Harvard in 1943. Thomas claims while attending college he was in the Harvard Junior Fellow society where he was given academic freedom. Kuhn gives credit to this time, this was the beginning of his career in philosophy. -
The Structure Of Scientific Revolutions
Kuhn injects his scientific revolution called the Paradigm shift through publishing his book "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions". The book goes to explain the four phases of what happens during a paradigm shift in science. The phases are, 1) Pre-Science 2) Normal Science 3) Crisis 4) Revolution. -
Series of Fortunate Events
During the convention of "International Colloquium in the Philosophy of Science" in 1965, Paul Feyerabend was to be one of the main speakers, discussing his alliance with Karl Popper's Falsifiability method. However, Mr. Feyerabend was unable to attend due to illness. This just so happen to be a lucky moment for Thomas Kuhn, the convention ended up primarily discussing the paradigm shift that Kuhn was introducing at the time. -

The book Structures of Scientific Revolution written by Thomas Kuhn in the early 60's was highly influential to the science realm. The four phases that Kuhn introduced back then is still a huge method utilized today.Take the crisis phase for example, many times in the history of our country there have been major breakthroughs during a time of chaos.Consider the current Pandemic and the resources created. Humans do their best work when we are left to a matter of life and death.
