    The Battle Of Gonzales
    The Battle of Gonzales was the Texians vs General Cos, and his army. The battle happened because Mexico wanted to take back the cannon that was loaned to them. They came to disarm the Texians for being disloyal. The Texians wanted to fight and were led in the battle by John Henry Moore. At the end of the battle, the Texians were quite succesful. It was 18 Texians vs 100 Mexicans, and nearly all of the Mexicans died while only one Texian died. This was the first battle of the Texas Revolution.

    The Battle Of The Alamo
    At the Battle of the Alamo, the purpose of the Alamo was to defend Anglo settlements. When Santa Anna (Mexican general) arrived sooner than the Texans expected, so they were caught off guard. At the end of the battle only women and children survived. No man survived including William B. Travis (Texan army commander), Jim Bowie (Commander of volunteers), and Davy Crockett. The Alamo was very important because it served later as inspiration for Sam Houston's army.

    The Convention of 1836 was at Washington on the Brazos. It was a meeting of 59 delegates than came together to talk about declaring independence from Mexico. This was were they wrote the Constitution of 1836. The Constitution of 1836 was the first anglo-american constitution to govern Texas. They also wrote the decleration of independence. These were both written by George C. Childress. There they also appointed many (important) government officials.

    Massacre At Goliad
    The massacre at Goliad wasa huge tragedy. James Fannin surrendered himself and his army to Santa Anna. They were captured at Goliad by General Urrea's forces. 350 men taken to a field being led on to think that they would work. General Urrea had tricked them and they were massacred. There were technically no survivors, some did survive the shooting but were caught and gruesomely killed.

    At the battle of San Jacinto, the Mexican army was unprepared for the attack. Sam Houston didn't want the Mexicans to retreat so he ordered a bridge to burned down.The battle was quite short only lasting 18 minutes, and part of that was created by the Twin Sisters.The battle was good because 630 Mexicans were killed and 730 were captured. In the battle Sam Houston was shot in the ankle.There was only one Tejano to fight in the battle, and that was Juan Seguin.Victory won independence for Texas.

    Santa Anna was captured after the Battle of San Jacinto. In order to live, Santa Anna was forced to sign the Treaties Of Velasco. The other person who signed the treaties was David Burnett.These treaties ended the Texas Revolution.There were two treaties that were written, the first being public, and the second being private.The public part of the treaties was basically saying that Mexico would leave Texas alone.The part of the treaties that was private was about Santa Anna breaking his promise.
