  • French and Indian War

    This was known as " Seven Year's War, this New World conflict marked another chapter in the long imperial struggle between Britain and France. In the early 1750s, France's expansion into the Ohio River valley repeatedly brought it in conflict with the claims of the British colonies, especially Virginia.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that had occurred on March 5,1770. It began as a street brawl between America colonists and a lone British soldier,but it all went down to be a chaotic,bloody slaughter. More than 2,000 British soldiers occupied the city of 16,000 colonists and tried to enforce the British tax laws.
  • Boston Tea Party

    American colonist, frustrated and angry at Britain for imposing " taxation without representation " they had dumped 342 chest of British tea into the harbor.
  • First and Second Continental Congress

    Delegates from the 13 colonist except from Georgia which was fighting a Native-American uprising and was dependent for the British military supplies.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolution War.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The delegates sent to the Olive Branch Petition to King George III, they had declared their loyalty but asked the king to repeal the Intolerable Acts.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The continental congress passed on the Declaration of Independence, copies had been made and sent around the colonies. Many of the Patriots supported the independence. They wanted to remain loyal to Britain.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Patriots defeated the British in the Battle of the Saratoga in New York, the American victory was a major turning point in this war. Before France gave money and supplies but that had stayed out of the war. After that the victory had proven that Americans can win.
  • Siege of Yorktown

    A combined American force of Colonial and French troops laid seig to the British Army at Yorktown, Virgina. That was led by George Washington and French General Comte de Rochambeau, they began their final attack on October 14th.
  • Winning the War in the South

    The war was officially over with the Treaty of Paris, which was ratified by the Congress in April 1783. The British recognized the United States as an independent nation. The treaty also established the borders of the United States: east and west, the border extended from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River: to the north, the border stopped at the Great Lakes: and to the south, the border stopped at Florida.
