    It was an unsucssesfull uprising by the Decembeist. The protesters were primarly the upper class. They were trying to get the troops to not take the oath and not to be loyal to the Czar. It was poorly organized.

    Nicholas became Czar when his father died in 1894. He had then married the prinsess of Germany, who becanme Alexandrea of Russia. He ruled until 1917 when he abicated the throne

    Russia had forced China into allwoing them to use Port-Arthur. They had not had enough troops at the port and the Japanese army was expanding. The Japanese army had atacked the Russian naval suadron. The Japanese had eventually cut off the port and had overrunn Korea. Russia had to retreat. They tried to go on offensive again but they had no reinforcements and had poor millitary leadership.

    Peacefully portesters were in St. Petersburg. The czar Nicholas was not at St. Petersburg so his uncle, Grand Duke Vladimir, ordered the police to fire upon the demenstrators. They killed more than a hundred demestrators and left sevral hundred wounded

    Russia entered the war with the largest army with 1,400,000 soliders. WHen they had fully mobilized the army they had 5,000,000 but thwy were not able to supply all of them with rifles. after the Genral failed at keeping his army from dying off against Germany, Nicholas steped in to take over the army. Even though they had compermised the German army they were dying because they could not get the supplise to the soilders.

    Nicholas had Russia entered into WWI. They were suffering badly and no one wanted to be in the war. Nicholas came back to St. Petersburg and abicated the throne. He and his family were taken and killed.

    The March Revolution was the first stage to the Russian revolution in 1917, which eventually overthrew the monarchy. The monarchy was replaced with the Provisonal Goverment which was also overthrown by the Bolsheviks.

    The russian civil war was between the Red army and the anti-bolsheviks. The red army had defended the new soviet union against the anit-bolsheviks.
