    Nicholas II Becomes Czar of Russia
    When Nicholas II became czar, he led Russia from glory to creating an economic collapse. He never wanted to be a czar, and he was quite a family guy who didn't really care about the country. No one liked him, and he became known as Bloody Nicholas after Bloody Sunday when Nicholas II's enemies were killed.

    Russia wanted a warm water port. The Japanese wanted recognition in Korea for an influence on them, and Russia wouldn't give it to them. The Japanese decided to go to war against Russia for this reason, and Japan won the war. Russia was defeated by Japan on other numerous occasions while they were under the rule of Czar Nicholas II.

    Vladimir Lenin was gathering socialists to help him overthrow the government and Czar Nicholas II. Russian people wanted reforms, and the czar wouldn't give them to the people. Russian people marched to the Winter Palace to make their demands, and the czar had the imperial forces open fire on the people. This killed and wounded hundreds, becoming known as Bloody Sunday.

    World War I had a devestating impact on Russia. Russia was starving, and the soldiers had little weapons. Russian citizens were angry with the czar.

    Rasputin was dead, and Lenin was out of the country. People were very angry since they had failed the first world war. The workers went on strike because they didn't get a wage increase, and riots eventually got worse because more people were etting killed under the rule of Nicholas II. Nicholas II then abdicated his throne, and he and his family were shot and buried in a forest.

    Czar Nicholas II left the throne because he didn't want to be the ruler over Russia, and the people weren't happy with him. The Bolsheviks soon won lots of support during this time. Soon, the people wanted socialist reforms, and Nicholas wouldn't give that to them. The last czar Nicholas then abdicated or left the throne.

    The Bolsheviks wanted a communist economy, so they created a Red Army and went up against the White Army. The Red Army won the Civil War, and Russia then became the communist Soviet Union.

    The U.S.S.R. is an acronym for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and they are known as the Soviet Union. The USSR is made up of 15 different countries and over 100 different nationalities. The Soviet Union proceeded to be a nation until 1991 when it ceased to exist.

    Vladimir Lenin Dies
    Lenin was a Russian communist revolutionary and a politician. With him, the Russian empire was replaced with the Soviet Union and communism. He was devoted to Marxism, and based off of the ideas of Marxism, he created his own ideas called Leninism. His body now lays in the Red Square in Russia to this day.
