    The French and Indian War was fought over the Ohio River Valley. The french and the Indiands fought against England and their colonist. Quebec was the turning point of the war because England surrounded the french in a suprise attack .England and the colonist won the war, and they gained all french land in North America east of the Mississippi river, French Canada, and Spanish Florida.

Uncle Tom's Cabin was the best selling novel of the 19th century. In the first year after it was published 300,000 copies.

Black Codes denied basic rights to blacks. Also the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was created it was a secret society in the south responsible for violence against blacks (lynching)
