    Canadian Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King, declares war on Germany with its Allie country, Britain. Most English Canadians had no problem with the decision, as they were helping their fellow country, Britain. The French Canadians have different feelings, since they felt they had no part in helping an enemy country.

    Canadian women gain the right to vote (+2)
    After the war, women have proven that they are as powerful as men. They started protesting to have equal rights as men, such as having the right to vote. This did not mean all women could vote. The women who were under 21, aboriginal, or Asian were not permitted to vote.

    As soldiers returned home, they carried a virus from overseas, known as the "Spanish Flu". The country was severely hit with this epidemic. The virus spread from country to country over time. Places would start closing their doors to prevent the illness to spread more.

    Women have decided to ban selling and producing liquor. It was seen as a sign of respect for the soldiers and how the liquor industry did nothing for the war. During the war every province legally banned liquor. Quebec was the shortest to have the law and the longest was to keep it was in Prince Edward Island.

    After being oppressed, abused, mistreated aboriginal had enough and started protesting for equal rights. The league was an attempt for First Nations to be heard. Federick Loft organized the league of Indians.

    At the time diabetes was a deadly common illness in Canada. Sir Federick Banting was a scientist who did a lot of studies. He presented his idea for insulin to another scientist at the University of Toronto. They tested on a 14-year-old boy and realized insulin was successful to treat diabetes.

    The Great Depression was an economic depression. It started out with something called "Black Tuesday". This is when the stock market completely crash. At the time people would invest a lot in the stock, hoping to become rich. When the stock crashed those people lost everything they had invested. People began to be poorer and countries were struggling financially. Canadians struggle as some were unemployed and some were homeless. This event continued for 10 years globally.
