    San Lorenzo became the great ceremonial center of the Olmec civilization. San Lorenzo is located in Veracruz State, about 40 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

    the Olmec Period began which saw rise in the olmecs culture work in stone. The first major cities started to appear.

    The Olmecs started to make huge stone heads. They are thought to of been to represent the Olmec leaders. This happened throughout the Olmec culture, There are no dates of when they were made so I just guessed it was when they were alive.

    San Lorenzo Is destroyed and monuments are defaced and La venta becomes the Olmec capital

    Their stonework ended about here. They stopped making the Jade Masks at this time period. They also stopped making the stone faces.
