a strong wave of warmth crosses a village. Everything in the village melts. The people of the village keep repeating the strange phrase "Rocket summer" -
Ylla
A Martian wooman named Ylla dreams about an Earth Man flying to Mars. Her husband thinks she talks too much about him and stars to get jealous. He pretends to go hunting but actually kills the earth man. -
The summer night
All Martians start singing Earth songs. -
the earth men
Earth men arrive on Mars, all the martians think that they are crazy Martians and lock them in an azil. In the end a Martian kills the Earth men because they think that they are projecting their halucinations on them. -
The taxpayer
An Earth man wants to enter a spaceship which is going on Mars to escape the atomic war that will take place on Earth. A security guard blocks him and he doesn't manage to go on the spaceship. -
The third expedition
Earthmen arrive on Mars they people, they think that things are weird because they arrive on a place that they alwready knew on Earth. Moreover they even meet people that they alwready knew on Earth. They go spend their night in their houses, it turns out that these people were actually Martians. They murderedall the Earthmen. -
And the moon be still as bright
The fourth expedition arrives on Mars, they find oud that most of the Martians have died of chickenpox. One of the man on the expedition thinks that some of the people don't have their place on this expedition so he kills some of them. Finnaly the other humans manage to kill him back. -
The settlers
The first expedition come to Mars to colonize it. -
The green morning
Another expedition come to Mars, after a while they realize the air on Mars is very thin and nearly impossible to breath, so one of the Earthmen decides to plant trees to get more air. They all went to sleep and when they woke up the entire zone where the man had planted trees was full of green, all trees were fully grown. -
The locusts
Even more rockets come to Mars to colonize it, thousands of men come out of tubes to go on Mars, like locusts. -
The night meeting
An Earthman and a Martian meet during the night, they talk together and realize that they are not living in the same time. In the Martians time nobody has colonised Mars and they all live in peace, in the Earthmens time Mars has been colonized and very few Martians are left in this planet. -
The fire balloons
Episcopal priests come to Mars to try to convert the Martians. It turns out that the Martians don't commit any sins. -
Interim
The humans take little part of Earh to install it on Mars. -
The musicians
A groupe of young Earthmen play misic with the bones of dead Martians. -
Way up in the middle of the year.
A racist man talks about the fact that black people are going on Mars. First he is happy because he doesn't want to see them anymore, but after he realizes that he is becoming lonely with nobody to give orders to. -
The naming of names
The Earthmen rename the planet Mars and new people come to Mars not to explore anymore but to live their. -

The old men come to Mars -
The Martian
An old couple move to Mars to turn the page on their son's death, Tom. One day Tom shows up but the father realizes that he is just an illusion made by the telepathic powers of a martian. At the end of the story this little boy looks like how everybody wants to see him. -
The luggage store
Father Peregrine talks to a man from Earth who owns a luggage store and he tells him that people will come back on Earth because it is their real home and that he will keep his store open. They also talk about the nuclear war. -
The off season
Sam Parkhill who is married to Elma opens a hot dog buisness on Mars. When the Martians go talk to him he panicks and he even killed one of them. One day he tries to escape them but they catch up and weirdely they tell him that they agree to give him half Mars' land for his hot dog buisness. He is very happy because he thinks that new earthmen will come to Mars and that his buisness will rise but during that night the nuclear war begins on Earth and that ruins his hot dog buisness plan. -
The wathchers
The colonists of Mars hear that the nuclear war on earth will explode. They watch the Earth explode. They receive a message from the survivants from Earth that tells them to go back to Earth to save them -
The silent towns
Walter Gripp is the last man on Mars and he feels very lonely but hope comes to him when he reiceves a phone call, it is the last woman on Earth Genieve Selsor. He starts looking for her and finds her but he is very deceived when he sees that Genieve is not an interesting wooman at all, she eats a lot of chocolate and watches the same movie over and over. In the end he leaves her and has a happy life alone. -
The long years
Dr heathaway lives alone with his wife, daughters and son on Mars because they missed the rocket to go back to Earth. Dr heathaway often visits a cemetry with four tomstones. Then Captain Wilder lands on Mars and meets dr heathaway. He sees that in the tombstones are his familly and that the other ones are fake robots. Later in the story Dr heathaway dies and is burries next to his familly -
There will come soft rains
An automated house keeps working after all the people who lived in it died. The house reads the poeme "There will come soft rains". At the end of the day a fire starts in the house and it burns. -
The milion-year picnic
A familly goes on vacation on Mars. The oldest son sees that something is weird. The father takes them to a canal where they can see their reflection and realize that they are the Martians.
