  • Rocker summer

    A rocket descends to a small town in Ohio creating summer and melting the snow just because of the warmth of the engines

  • Ylla

    A Martian women named Ylla once dreams about a man coming from earth, in her dream she meets the guy and finally kisses him. She told her dream to her husband Yll but he became extremely jealous and pretends that her wife had an appointment with a doctor at home not to let her see this mysterious guy and he finally kills the earth man while pretending hunting.

  • The Summer night

    On a beautiful summer night, Martians are surprised by earth men thought coming from earth by telepathy, they discover a culture they have never seen

  • The Earth Men

    A crew made of a captain and three crewmen arrived from earth to Mars but when they arrived nobody took them seriously thinking that they are crazy.But they finally arrived to an asylum. The doctor told them they were crazy and told them that they made all of that by telepathy. So he killed the captain, thinking that everything would go away but no so he killed the others men and after all thinking that he is himself crazy, kills himself.

  • The Taxpayer

    A honest citizen named Pritchard demands to go to Mars because he pays his taxes but is finally refused

  • The Third Expedition

    Another group of men lands on Mars to colonize the planet but when they arrived they saw a town like we can found in America in the 1920s.But someone told them they were in America and in 1926. After a man of the crew saw his dead relatives and was really surprised, everyone of the crew found his relatives in the town but the night the captain questioned himself about the truth of all of this and decides to escape but his brother kills him and the day after everyone of the crew was dead

  • and the Moon be Still as Bright

    A fourth expedition lands to Mars but they found all the Martian dead of chickenpox. A guy of the crew went crazy and killed men of his own crew to preserve Mars, he wanted to kill everyone even the future expeditions. The captain wanted him to stop and go back with them but he didn't succeeded so they killed the guy and went back to earth

  • The settlers

    American settlers leave Earth for Mars and are seized by loneliness as they depart.

  • The green Morning

    A guy named Benjamin Driscoll arrived to Mars but found he has difficulties to breathe in Mars so he decided to plant seeds of trees on Mars and the next day all of the trees were tall and green

  • The Locusts

    This chapter is about the colonization in Mars, telling that it is becoming more Earthian little by little and lots of people had come to Mars

  • Night Meeting

    A earth man drives and find a dead Martian so he stopped but after a strange ship came with a Martian in it. They were both shocked. They began to talk each saying that the other one is dead and that he is the one alive. They finally agree to disagree and both took their respect way

  • The Shore

    This chapter talks about the men who are coming to Mars, they say they are all Americans because the other countries are surrounded by wars

  • Interim

    Lumber is sent to Mars as a town is erected, with churches and artists now making their mark. It seems as if a town from Iowa has been dropped on the face of Mars.

  • The Musicians

    The parents of some Earthian boys are warned not to go to the ancient cities. They go regardless of such warnings, playing with the bones of dead Martians while pretending to be musicians. The boys return home, their deeds discovered on the soles of their shoes, and they are punished.

  • Way up in the middle of the air

    All the African American have decided to go to Mars to escape racism but teece's wife is disappointed because their housekeeper is also going

  • The Naming of Names

    This chapter tells us that previous Martians names were description of the places but now with the Earthian names, everything is in memory of the first colonizers

  • The old ones

    Older people settle down in Mars, as they'd settled down in the warmer climates of the United States.

  • The Martian

    LaFarge and his wife has come to Mars but they were old. They had a son named tom. One night they see their son outside and decide to bring him back. The father realized it was a Martian but kept it to himself and the Martian went through the village and everyone saw him as his dead son but finally got confused with his powers and melts

  • The luggage store

    Atomic war is coming close on Earth. A priest and a luggage salesman discuss about this. They think everyone will go back if there is war in earth and that luggage sales will go up

  • The Watchers

    People on Mars observe and listen as the Earth is destroyed. Australia is straight up gone from an accidental detonation. People from Mars all head back to join the war effort.

  • The off season

    Sam Parkhill has opened up a hot dog stand on Mars. On one day he is approached by a Martian and kills it. He then flees from a large group of them. He eventually ends up in a shootout with them and eventually surrenders to the Martians. They wish him no harm and give him a piece of paper. It is a deed to half of Mars and they tell him to prepare for some big event coming up soon. That night Sam witnesses the start of the atomic war on Earth.

  • The silent towns

    Walter Gripp has been left behind on Mars. He doesn't believe anyone else is left and searches for others. Eventually he finds another person, a woman. He meets her and does not like her. To him she is annoying and fat. He eventually leaves her and then prefers loneliness over finding other people.

  • The Long Years

    Hathaway has been living on Mars with his family ever since the war. He goes out every once in awhile to an unknown grave and weeps. Eventually Captain Wilder comes back to Mars and discovers Hathaway. He eventually suspects that something is wrong with the family. Hathaway then dies of a sudden heart attack. Wilder then figures out that Hathaway's family died awhile ago and created robots in place of them. Wilder decides to leave them and heads for Earth.

  • There Will Come Soft Rain

    A house is leftover from the war on Earth. A house tries to keep itself together over time, but it is beginning to fail. It goes about everything like usual, even with the absence of humans. A tree eventually crashes on the house and the house burns down and is gone for good.

  • The Million-year Picnic

    A family arrives on Mars. The three children of the family are confused with what's going on and there is a hatred of Earth's tendencies and culture from the father. The father destroys their rocket and later on tells the family that they will be Martians from now on.
