    George was born in Connecticut, into a political family. His grandfather served as a US Senator, and his father, George H. W. Bush served as president of the United States.
  • College

    College
    George Bush graduated from Yale University in 1968. He then went on to graduate from the Harvard Buissness School in 1975 with a bachelors in history. This was an important event in Bush's life because college is where some of George's ideas first begun that would later become american policies. College is where George got the permenent idea in his head that he could become the President of the United States one day.

    President of the United States
    2001 was the year that George Bush got sworn into the office and officialy became the 43rd president of the United States of America. This was an important date in the life of George Bush because he had just won an election that carried a lot of controversy. Due to the supposed "miscounts" of the 2000 election, Al Gore believed he should have been the president. Bush getting sworn in put the election out of mind and allowed Bush to create his legacy.

    A major part of George Bush's administration was one of his first addresses to the union, but it was also only 4 moths after the fatal day of 9/11. Bush started by reasurring the country that American coud be great - "In four short months, we begun to rebuild New York and the Pentagon, captured and rid the world of thousands of terrorists, saved people from starvation, and freed a country from brutal oppression". (Bush) Bush reassured the nation that we can defend ourselves.

    9/11 was a huge moment in America's history. This was during George Bush's second year in office - he was still a young president with much to learn. "9/11 was a monumental day ... America was under attack" (National Geographic). As Bush explained in his interview - America had never really been under an attack like this before. This horrendous incident helped shape the rest of Bush's 6 years of being president. His focus had to shift from domestic policy to foreign affairs.

    This was the year that George Bush made the ever fateful descion of invading Iraq. It is estimated that America lost around 23 billion dollars due to the war with Iraq. This decision to invade Iraq become filled with controversy because of all the money lost. This would lead a never ending stain on Bush's administration. After the fact the Bush Administration did a poor job of justifying their actions - they were known to tell the citizens tales of fiction (Occasional Planet)
  • Another Presidential Election Win

    Another Presidential Election Win
    This was an important election for the Bush Administration. It was a very unknown outcome of what was to come of the 2004 presidential election. Due to the fact that Bush had invaded Iraq the year before - votes for him were up in the air. At the end of the day Bush got enough of the votes and won back the position of President of the United States of America.

    The 2008 State of the Union Address was a very humbling speech given by President Bush. America had been a through a rough eight years with Bush standing as the President. From 9/11 to the war with Iraq to the housing crash. The Bush administration saw it all - so this speech really showed how Bush had grown over his eight years in office. As Bush said "we acted with purpose. And together, we showed the world the power and resilience of American self-government" (Bush).
