The Korean War
On 1949 North Korea was backed up by China and Soviet Union and they invade South Korea. The U.N. told North Korea to back off but they didn't so they took action. The United States went to South Korea to help them because they were afraid that communism will spread throughout South Korea. They fought back and pushed North Korea off of South Korea. The war will end on a Peace treaty on 1953. -
Foreign Involvement
After seeing over the attack of North Korea in South Korea America had to react fast. They went to South Korea so they could help them win the war. They did this because they believed in the domino effect and this is when one country falls into communism other will too. They thought that South Korea will fall into communism. -
The fight for Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh wanted vietnam to be a communist country, but another leader named Ngo Dinh didn't want vietnam to be communist country. The country split into two counties North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The United State was scared that communism will spread because they believe in the domino effect, so they went to south Vietnam to help them. A war broke out between them for the control Vietnam. -
Winning back Vietnam
The French had control of Vietnam,but WWII came and Japan took control Vietnam. The end of World War 2 came and Japan lost control of Vietnam. This would lead for France to try to control Vietnam, but a nationalist leader named Ho Chi Minh fought for their independence. Vietnam won it's independence and a peace treaty happen. -
