Khalil's Car (emotional)
In khalils car, khalil and starr are still somewhat panicking from the gun shot and worried for kenya. However they calm down soon enough, listening to music and talking about old times and how life is going now for them. The calmness doesnt last long, when they get pulled over khalil isnt nervous however starr is. The panic rises when after khalil is forced out of the car and later shot Starr freaks out, she doesnt know what to do and is scared yet also very angry. Khalil was worried for starr -
Starr's Bedroom (emotional)
Starr had just gotten home and cleaned up at this point. Starr is very emotional, she is angry, sad that she lost her friend and stressed. She has a hard time sleeping with all of her nightmares. while her mother is in her room, her mom feels bad. Yet she seems somewhat relieved that her daughter is okay, at least physically. -
The Party (emotional) - evidence

ruebens restaurant is a calm and friendly restaurant that people know and go to eat. mr rueben is known for being very nice.

Marigold Avenue (emotional)
Marigold Avenue reminds me of a downtown area, Can be fun and has a lot of places people go to all the time. Marigold is the street where most of the businesses from the book are. There are good and bad times for the street. Like when the stores are broken into and when carters grocery had the fire. However after carters grocerys fire the people came together from businesses all around.

The Party (emotional)
At the party Starr doesn't believe she belongs there, she not too interested in being there. Kenya is somewhat happy to be there however she seems annoyed also, there's a girl that she wants to fight and the party and she wants Starr to also go on her own and have fun, not follow her around. For everyone else their having fun and partying until a gun is fired, people are then panicking and running in all different directions to get out, starr and khalil run together & starr worries for kenya. -
Carter's Grocery (emotional)
In Carter's Grocery there's a lot of emotions throughout the book that are experienced in the store. In the beginning they go there the day after Khalil is shot, there's some apologies from people they know, and there was the time Kenya came in and her and Starr talked about the night before when he was shot. Fear is also experienced in the store when the cop pinned down Mavrick in front of the store and when the kids are trapped when king started the fire in the store.
