Once you turn 12 you are given a certain assignment, known as a job in our community. Every 12 was given an assignment except for Jonas, Jonas was the last 12 to receive a job. This is because Jonas receives the most important assignment, this job is the receiver of memory. -
event 5
Jonas gets a memory from the giver that he is at war and he sees the color red in the peoples flesh. He gets hurt, this is a very painful memory. -
event 6
While Jonas and his family are having dinner they discuss about there day, and how the night before Jonas stayed at the Givers place for ''training''. -
event 7
The Giver and Jonas discuss a plan for Jonas to escape from thed community. That same night Jonas and his father discuss how this will be Gabriels last night at their house. -
event 2
After Jonas receives his assignment he is told that the training of this job is going to be very painful, so on the first day of training Jonas is very scared but the previous receiver,now known as the giver. Transmits all of his wisdom to Jonas. On the first day Jonas is given the memory of sledding down a snowy hill, the Giver gave Jonas this memory so he would not be scared to come -
event 3
Jonas goes back and is no longer scared, he does not get anything painful except for the sunburn memory. He asked the Giver for a painful memory so he would know what it would be like. In this memory Jonas breaks his leg. -
event 4
Jonas gets a memory from the giver, he sees an elephant. He gets hit by a rock in the head but besides this was his first painful memory. -
event 9
Jonas and Gabe soon got so hungry that Jonas had to stop riding and make a fishing net out of his resources. They both got to eat a raw fish because Jonas caught two fish in this net. -
event 8
That night right after sun falls Jonas grabbed Gabe and they left on the bicycle. They soon began their escape from the community they rode for miles un till Jonas got so tired he had to stop. -
event 10
Jonas and Gabe have been riding and walking for miles and miles, they have to duck from planes everynow and then, Jonas finally feels a flat surface and knows they are close. He finds a snowhill and a red sled and he knows that he has seen these things in his memory.
