    Alien Sedition Acts

  • War With Tripoli

    War With Tripoli
    Tripoli, located on the coast of Africa, required money from the U.S. to protect them from pirates at the Mediterranean sea. Tripoli wanted to raise the funds, but Washington refused to pay the new amount. Then a war started between Tripoli and the USA. The outcome of the war made Washington increase the size of the navy.     Monroe Doctrine
    Latin American countries were gaining independence. Monarchies in Europe threatened the countries to stamp out a representative government. After these events, the Monroe Doctrine was issued for countries to expect a strong response from the USA if the European countries interfere with North or South American countries.     In 1830 a business boom caused the removal of the Native Americans on the East Coast. They were moved over to the West. Along the way alot of Native Americans died; 4,000 to be exact. In the outcome America got more land, what they wanted in the first place. Image Source: history.com
