    John Adams made laws that somewhat supported us but were against other countries. It caught a lot of flack from critics and has since became nothing due to states becoming against it.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon III in 1803. Lewis and Clark eventually explored it, giving us more land.
  • War with Tripoli

    War with Tripoli
    Thomas Jefferson sent U.S. troops to Tripoli to start a war with them. He sent ships and the U.S. won. It helped jumpstart the Navy.

    France and Britain fought in a war,and the US wasn't involved. US even signed a treaty to stay outta it. This war gave us more of an identity as a country.

    James Monroe delivered an address that warned countries that if they tried anything sneaky with Latin America, the U.S would intervene and stand up for LA. It sent a big warning to European countries.

    John Quincy Adams made buying goods from other countries very expensive. It caused the South to become poor after paying more for goods.

    America and Andrew Jackson forced American Indians out of Georgia, and they went west to Oklahoma in a long, grueling journey that killed many Indians in what is now called as the Trail of Tears, or the Indian Removal Act.
