Event 0
This book "The Fire Horse Girl" by Kay Honeyman is a book about a Chinese Girl named Jade Moon. Jade is a girl who is born with the "Fire Horse Curse" which makes a girl stubborn, short tempered, and a lot of negative traits. Born and raised in China, she finaly gets a chance to see America by metting a man named Sterling Holmes who can help her. -
Event 1
Jade Moon is introduced. She is a girl who is cursed with the Fire Horse. This means that she has all the negative traits of a person -stubbornness, bad tempers, selfish-ness have an increased strength and more. She lives in China hoping one day to arrive in America. -
Event 2
Jade discovers that her parents have plans for her to marry someone. She is furious and decides to disobey her parents. This shows that the curse is burnt into her. -
Event 3
The meeting of a Chinese Immigrant Sterling Holmes who travels back to China to meet the Fire Horse Girl. He gives her a chance to achieve her dream, to see America, but really he is the man who is suppose to marry Jade. This means Jade and her father can enter America and start a business there, where they can get enough money to raise their farm. -
Event 4
Jade and her father have both decided to enter America. However, they learn that their is going to be a lot of testing, and studying for the test is going to have to be the main priority if they really want to enter America. . -
Event 5
This is the time where Jade, her father, and Sterling need to practice for the testing. The Americans are going to ask them about thier personal lives, and Jade and her father need to answer every question with similar answers. However, Jade's father does not want to study, leaving a big problem. -
Event 6
Sterling, Jade, and her father finaly arive in America, where they have to go through testing first and pass. The moment has arrived, but Jade gets seperated from her father and Sterling Sharpe, having no idea what to do but study. This event starts to lead up to an even bigger event. -
Event 7
Jade discovers that her father does not want to enter America anymore, so she enters America alone with Sterling Holmes and a new lady who she can trust. This means that Jade is going to have to count on Sterling to calm down her curse, but he won't be able to help her all the time, leaving Jade a problem to discover America alone. -
Event 8
Jade gets cornered by two men who want to take her and sell her, but Sterling saves Jade and takes her to man who can teach her self-defense. However, Jade does not have the patience to learn self-defense and gets frustrated when she cannot understand the concept of it. -
Event 9
As Jade Discovers that people are kidnapping Chinese girls to sell them, she purposly becomes a victim. She then help girls escpae from the leaders and brings them to a safe place where a Women keeps Chinese Girls safe from those who want to sell them. Jade then realizes that this is what she is meant to do in America. All the Self-Defense training was paying off. -
Event 10
As most problems are able to be sloved, one is not. Jade and Sterling then decide to marry eachother and live in America. -
Event 11
The book is a good book if a person is intereseted in Romance, Mystery, and Drama. This book has been recommended to 9th-12th graders, but anyone in the middle school can understand the concept. I would watch the Movie if there was one because the book seems realistic already due to the fact that it is based on Chinese Immigrants. Nothing needs to be changed in this book.
