    Invented Emile Berliner. This was the first system that recorded and played music on a flat disc. Had an arm that would scratch the discs to play the music.

    Valdimar Poulsen invented the wire recorder. This recorded the music onto a wire and worked similarly to the magnetic recorder.

    The record was the first sound recording that could be mass produced in 1900. They were originaly made of glass, then zinc and eventually plastic.

    Fritz Pfleumer invented this. It was primarely used for recording music. It was based on the invention of magnetic wire recording.
